Hello,
It's Friday!! This has seemed like such a loooong week to me. I am glad the weekend is here. I am hoping to be able to relax and get some crafting done. I want to roast a chicken too. That sounds so good to me.
Today I have a card to share with you, I used some fun heart paper and a digi for the image. Here is the pic.
The heart paper is from my stash, and I printed a fun cup digi from Daydream Designs onto it. The cup comes from The Perfect Blend set. The button for Daydream Designs is in my sidebar and the link is attached to take you there. The scripture is Revelation 21:6b. I used some lace and twine and rhinestones from my stash, some roses from Whimsy, and the butterfly is punched with a Martha Stewart punch. I edged the card and scripture with some ink from my Worn Lipstick Distress Marker.
As I read and pondered this scripture this week, a few things stood out to me. In this verse, Rev 21:a, in part a, Jesus says "It is done, I am the Alpha and Omega the beginning and the end." One time I heard a Pastor talk about how very few things are ever finished on this earth. So many projects and causes are started and not finished. I know this is true for myself, how many things have I started over the years and not finished for various reasons. And just for the record, I don't have ADHD or OCD. Ha! But Jesus is referring here to HIS death, burial and resurrection on the cross. At Jesus final breath, he said "It is finished". He had become the piece we all needed to become right with Father God, and he says "I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end." That means all things started with HIM and all things will finish with HIM. Then in Rev 21:6b he says "I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely." Here what he is saying is, Are you thirsty for the right way to live, do you long to know me and my ways, come to me and I will show you and fill you with my spirit. How do we do this in the natural, you might say? By reading your Bible.
If you are a Christian, I would just encourage you to spend some time reading your Bible. Maybe you can take on a new Bible study or just spend more time in the word. But, maybe it has been along time since you have read it at all, seek HIM, he won't disappoint you. I love spending time in the word and reading my Bible and learning, I can literally loose myself in it, but there are those days when I want to craft instead of read my Bible. We are human, so we have to discipline ourselves to put God first. He loves us and wants us to spend time with HIM. Only he can satisfy the thirst we have in this life. God bless you.

This is a beautiful card! I too love spending time in the scriptures. No matter how many times I read or study, I continue to learn more each time I go through. Hugs, Robin
ReplyDeleteDear Rea
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful post from a woman of God. I just had a sweet friend drop off a Beth Moore study and I am so excited to start it. So true that we need to be in the word daily to truly have that relationship with Him.
Blessings to you and I hope you get to roast that chicken
hugs
Kate
Great post, Rea. You are SO right about spending time in the Word of God. We all have time for crafting, eating, TV, etc., but don't make nearly enough time for prayer and spiritual growth (time in His precious Word), so thank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteYour card is darling, and I'm always SO very blessed when you share with us. Thank you for being a blessing and encouragement to me, and to others.
