Goodbye Summer, hello Fall...
I hope your having a nice evening.
I am going to share some photos with you of some things of summer I really enjoyed. I hope you had a nice summer. As I get older I seem to find joy in the small things of life, and everyday things that can be so easily over looked. But when taking notice those small pleasures bring a kind of comfort that is soothing to the soul.
Some Prim Roses from my garden.
Gorgeous Bing Cherries
Beautiful Red Roses from my garden.
An amazing and intricate spider web in the sunlight from my yard.
Sweet blue corn flowers from my yard.
One of my favorites, Cattails. These are wonderful. So fuzzy and tall.
Beautiful Day Lilies from my garden.
Delicious Organic Tomatoes.
Homemade Pico de Gallo Salsa from the tomatoes. So, so yummy!
This summer my heart longed to be at the beach but it wasn't possible. The warm sun on my face, my toes dug down deep into the cool sand, watching the waves roll in. Feeling the cool beach air. Hearing the roar of the tumbling waves. My remedy to calm that desire was a wonderful book I read and I also wanted to share it with you. It is called "Devotions for the Beach... and days you wish you were there". By Miriam Drennan. Miriam does a wonderful job of using common things seen at the beach with spiritual devotions to help us draw closer to the Lord. This book was a real blessing to me and even open my eyes to all the beautiful things God has given us at the beach to enjoy. I would recommend it for you to add to your reading list.
And last I would like to share a lovely copper tea kettle that I picked up at my second hand shop. I just love hot tea in the fall and this little beauty will be helping me make that hot cup. I have wanted a copper tea kettle for quite a while, but they are hard to come by. But I didn't want a new one. I wanted one that had been used and had a little wear to it. One that was looking for a new home, so when I saw it, I knew it was just for me. It also had a cute little blue and white porcelain button on the lid and the handle is also porcelain with the blue and white motif. It is just adorable. It will be helping me welcome those cool fall nights.
I am so glad you came by and hope you enjoyed some of God's blessings and joys he has given me. I send a hug and God bless you.
