Indian Summer Butterfly

Hello,
It is Indian Summer summer here, and today the sun is shining and it's so lovely.
I have a card to share with you today that uses the Indian Summer DP from We R Memory Keepers.  This paper is so beautiful and I can't tell you how much I love it.  The whole collection is full of the most beautiful graphics and prints.   Here is my card.

I layered the DP, added some lace from my stash, I mounted the punched butterfly to some ivory cardstock from my stash and added a button to that.  The butterfly was punched from my Martha Stewart punch.  I just love it when pretty papers do all the work for you.

I will be taking part in the following challenges and the links are below.  Glitter and Sparkle, Sister Act, Simply Create Too, Through The Craft Room Door, Creative Fingers.

Creative Bible Journaling - Psalm 94:1

Hello,
I hope your doing well.
It is a warm and muggy day today, so just perfect to be inside and do a little crafting.

A couple of weeks ago I was introduced to the idea of journaling in your Bible.  I just loved this concept.  I have seen on the internet that alot of ladies are doing this,  I have no clue where this idea originated from.  And I don't think I would be comfortable giving any "man" credit for something like that concerning God's holy words.  I believe all glory regarding his Word belongs to God, I am sure you understand.

I have decided to call this process "Creative Bible Journaling", and here is the definition I have come up with for it, "Being creative in your Bible through  journaling, using various art mediums and supplies , study notes and pictures so that the Words of God can minister to you through this process." - Ann Custer  I will be hash tagging it this way, #Creative Bible Journaling.

I have marked and put notes in my Bible for years, since I was 16 years old.  I have used Kay Arthur's concept of Inductive Bible Study since the 1980's.  So, the concept of using craft supplies I had and ramping up my journaling in my Bible was so up my alley.  They do sell new Bible's for this and it gives you space for your journaling (and notes).  Before ordering a Bible I did a little research regarding preferences I had.  I went with a KJV Bible (that is the version I use to study with), a large print too.  As the small type is difficult for me to see.  It also has Jesus words in red, which I like.  And no lines in the journaling areas.  These were my preferences.  I will be journaling on the outer edge and putting my personal notes on the inside column, top and bottom.  My Bible has four spaces available for journaling.  The text is in a two column form in the middle of the Bible.  I will only be sharing my pages with the journaling using my craft supplies when I post my pages, all private notes will be added after that.  I choose Psalm 42:1 to journal today, which says,

Psalm 42 King James Version (KJV)

42 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

Here are some pics for my first page.

Close up of the second half of the page:

I used some bubble wrap for the dots and a beautiful wedgewood blue ink to mimic the water brook refered to in the scripture.  The paper and hart (deer head) are from Prima, the Cigar Box Secrets Collection.  The small swirl stamps are from my stash.  For the journaling I used a Martha Stewart Journaling Pen.

If you have any questions regarding my page feel free to contact me, by leaving a comment, and make sure you include your email so I can get back to you easily.  Again, I will be hash tagging my Bible pages with #Creative Bible Journaling.   I will also be using #Journaling Bible so those using that hashtag can see them too.  Also I want to state very clearly that I don't mind if this or future post for my Journaling Bible are pinned or repinned into Pinterest, but I do not give my permission for this post or pictures to be launched in any way into Facebook.

I am so glad you stopped by, God bless you.

Praying Hands and Roses

Hello,
I hope your doing well.   It seems the heat wave is continuing here, and we are suppose to get rain soon in the next couple days, I hope we do.  Too hot for me.  It has been going on for days and it starts to make you sick.

Today I have a 8X8 layout to share with you.  I think I have fallen in love with this layout size.  And it was so much easier to photograph.  I used the beautiful stamp "Praying Hands and Roses" from Blue Ridge Impressions you can find it in their catalog on page 9.  Their catalog is available in the side bar of my blog, just click the button for them and their catalog is right their, just click on it and view the catalog online.  I have to tell you what a joy it is to be a Designer for Blue Ridge Impressions.  Jonathan and Anita are two of the nicest people, they love God with all their hearts and you can just feel their desire to live for Him when you talk to them.  You really don't find that kind of people much anymore.  Here is a pic of my layout and then I will give some details.

For along time now I have been wanting to do some layouts with hymns.  I finally did it and love it so much.  I am going to be doing this more often and this layout will start a book for me.  I used the Hymn "Amazing Grace" by John Newton.  I greatly admire John Newton and he has a very powerful testimony.  He was a slave ship owner and the Lord saved him.  After accepting Christ as his Lord and Savior, he spent the rest of his life in the ministry, and writing.

I used a piece of 8x8 DP from Blue Ferns Studio called Ombre Dreams.  Gorgeous paper.  I then used some Frantage on it and then layered the doily, hymn, stamped image from Blue Ridge Impressions, and cheese cloth and flowers.  I used some Prima centers for my flowers.  The flowers were die cut from a Magnolia Die Cut.  The ribbon is from my stash and that adorable frame is from my precious friend Tamara.  I inked the edges of the paper, flowers, and frame with a chalk ink pad from Clearsnap.  Here are a couple of close ups.

I will be linking up to the following challenges, Through The Craft Room Door, Artistic Inspirations and Creative fingers, super fun challenges.  The links are below.

I am so glad you stopped by, I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week.  God bless you.

Free Spirit

Hello,
It has been one hot day today.  It got up to 105 with the heat index.  So horrible.  I hope this ends soon, it has been going on for a few days.

Tonight I have a card to share with you that used the Bloom Girl named "Free Spirit".  She is so lovely.  I will share my card and then the supplies I used below that.  Here is the inspiration picture for the challenge at Bloom Girls, the link is below if your interested.

My card:

I used a piece of watercolor paper to make my card, then stamped the image onto it, I used a collection of my colored pencils and my blender pen to color the image.  It turned out beautiful.  I added some Stickles to the image for a little touch of sparkle, and for the beads used a gold ink marker.  The flowers were from my stash supply.  I used all the colors shown in the inspiration picture at the Bloom Girls Challenge.  I loved them all.

I will be taking part in the following challenges, Bloom Girl, Sister Act, Artistic Inspirations, Through The Craft Room Door, Creative Fingers.

I am so glad you stopped by and God bless you,

Floral Birthday

Hello,

Today I have a birthday card to share with you.  Here's the pic.

I will be linking up at the following Challenges, Tombow, Sister Act, Through The Craft Room Door, Artistic Inspirations and Cute Card Thursday.  The links will be below.  Super fun challenges!

Hope you have a great day, God bless you!

God bless your birthday hours...

Hello,
I hope your having a lovely evening.  It is a nice mild day here in the midwest.
I have a card to share with you using the birthday stamp, "God bless your birthday hours", and it can be found on page 18 of the Blue Ridge Impressions Catalog, you can reach the catalog by clicking on their button in the sidebar of my blog.
They have the most beautiful stamps, lovely nature stamps, scenery, and of course my favorite, scripture stamps.  Along with plenty of other craft supplies to choose from.  I hope you will stop by and take a look.

I used a base of green cardstock, then embossed a brown piece of cardstock from my Core'dinations Tim Holtz Distress colored cardstock.  I used the Darice Birch Tree embossing folder which is on page 99.   I embossed it, and the used my distress tool to see the core color.  I always love the look you get with Core'dinations.  The stamp is the God bless your birthday stamp on page 18.  I finished it off with some twine.

Before I close I would like to share some things that have been on my heart.  It seems to me there has been so much sadness in the world over the last month.  Israel and Hamas being at war, seeing young children being killed from it.  Hearing that playgrounds are being bombed while children are in school.  So sad to me.  I am a strong supporter of Israel, but I fell so sorry for the children on both sides.  It must be so scary for them and hard to understand.  But this war has gone on for thousands of years, and if you know your Bible at all and of the history behind the wars between these two you know that it is far from over.  So I pray for Israel and the innocent children.
I have also been very saddened and moved by the actor Robin Williams death.  He was struggling with drug addiction (and had been his whole adult life) and depression.  He was once quoted as saying  " I use to think that the worst thing in life was to end up all alone.  It's not.  The worst thing in life is ending up with people who make you feel all alone." -Robin Williams  This of course made me feel so sad for him.  I wish he had known Jesus.  Jesus is the only one who can fill the hole in us that nothing and no one else can fill.  He felt alone because he was alone.

So I ask you this, do you feel alone, do you need that hole in you to be filled.  Maybe you have tried in your own way to fill that hole with drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling, food, and the list can go on and on.  But your still alone and unfulfilled.  Then I have good news for you, Jesus is ready to meet you right where you are and receive you to himself.  All you have to do is pray a simple prayer and receive Jesus into your heart.  At the top of my blog there is a button, it says "Find out how to spend eternity with God".  Just click on that and it will take you to a link you can read, and then a prayer to lead you to pray to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.  Don't hesitate, respond today, you never know what tomorrow will bring.   If you do accept Christ, please leave me a comment and let me know, I would love to add you to my prayer list to pray for you and your new walk with the Lord.

God bless you.

Please Pray...

Hello,
I am asking all Christians who follow my blog to please pray for Pastor Silas Rabbini.  I have received word that he is not doing well in prison in Iran.  He was arrested in May and taken to an Iranian Prison.  He has been tortured since his arrest in prison.   My prayers are with him and his family, God bless and be with them all.

Thank you,
